The Theatre Gym will bring DUTY back for a return engagement for 8 performances at Fringe Central - 1730 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64108 - between November 12th and 21st. All specially priced performances will benefit the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund that provides assistance for the education of the children of America’s Marines. If you are currently serving or are a former service man, you are encouraged to wear your uniforms!

DUTY’s compelling story of the Crenshaws speaks to everyone’s daily experience of Americans in time of war. With a bare minimum of manipulation and a clear unfolding of the issues and the story, the play visibly and audibly moved the audience at each performance.

During the September engagement, not one person left before the end. Each night after the bows more than half the audience stayed for a discussion of the play with the cast and playwright. Many saw DUTY more than once.

The Theatre Gym’s September presentation of the world première of DUTY by Hal Parrott was a tremendous success...and only the beginning of the play’s journey to New York.

In 2011, The Theatre Gym will mount a nation-wide tour of Hal Parrott’s DUTY. The development of this amazing script will continue all through next year and on into 2012 when the play will move to Off Broadway in New York as a Kansas City-based production.

You can be part of that by supporting it now! And you can support a most worthy cause at the same time.
